Lake Tahoe is one of the most popular lake vacations in the United States, if not he entire world. The water color is an absolutely stunning clear blue that fills this Alpine lake. One of the most sought after features of this place is actually invisible, which is the refreshing air quality. If you are coming from a big city lake Los Angeles that has some of the worst air quality in the world, your lungs will be in for treat. In this post I’d like to highlight some of my favorite aspects of this magical place.
Poke Beach

This is probably the most popular beach in the area. Unlike a traditional coastal beach there are no waves which decreases the danger for little kids and makes it a perfect spot for paddle boarding.
Rubicon Trail

Part of the large state park, the six and half mile long Rubicon trail will guide through this beautiful nature preserve. The views from the cliff side trails and remote hidden coves are spectacular!
Tahoe’s Hidden Castle

Yes you read that correctly, there is a hidden castle in the middle of the forest. Located in Emerald Bay, the castle was crafted by 200 plus men in 1929. While no longer a residence, the castle now is on display as a museum for visitors to enjoy.
Inspiration Point

If you are not the type to get out on the water or on the hiking trail then Inspiration Point is for you. It is the most desirable view in the area for good reason.
Lake Tahoe Resources for Visitors
There are so many fun filled activities and beautiful sights not mentioned in this post, so I’d suggest you check out Tahoe South for expert guidance and deals. There is also a video made by Expedia below that will give you a great preview of what your trip will be like.
